Business Consultant - Bespoke Project Work

As a business owner, sometimes you need a fresh perspective or additional support - perhaps both. The role I fulfil has various titles:  Business Consultant, Interim, Implementation Specialist; whether I'm bridging a skills gap or managing and implementing a change management program, I'm here to deliver tailored solutions for your business needs.  Aimed at businesses with up to £25M turnover, my bespoke project service and skill set offer the flexibility needed to work with different types of businesses.   

Fees & Timings

My fee structure adapts to the project scope, allowing for a day rate, a project rate or a fixed term monthly retainer for longer project work.  Fees will also include incurred expenses for travel and subsistence when working onsite.  I bill a proportional deposit for new customers, and invoice work completed every month with a seven-day payment term.  

There is no typical delivery timescale, as projects can take anywhere from two months to two years to deliver. Likewise, the budgets can vary from £500 to £50,000 subject to the scope and deliverables required.

Process Overview

I use the following framework to work with each client, which works across regulatory, strategic or operational projects.

Consultation: Initial requirements are identified, and discussions encompass deliverables, timelines, and budgets. We also evaluate business chemistry to ensure alignment.

Scope: Discussions revolve around business needs, potential solutions, budgets, personnel, communication structures, stakeholder input, timescales, monitoring, and reporting.  I provide a Project Proposal & Estimated Costs at this stage, and if approved, both parties sign the provision of services agreement before we proceed. 

Definition: Agreed deliverables are identified, and a Project Plan & Business Requirements are documented and approved.

Analysis: Audits and research completed (where required) to assist in the design of a solution, and work is completed based on required deliverables. 

Implementation: Subject to project type, processes, systems, and physical implementation are executed, with ongoing learnings integrated.

Once a project is delivered, aside from a check in, I ensure that you have all the tools to carry on working without me, that is until the next project comes along!
