About Me

Hello! My name is Joanna Lush, and this section is about me in the context of the skills and expertise I have within business. The simplest explanation is that I am a Swiss Army Knife for business owners. It's also the shortest way to say that I'm a multi-skilled, problem-solving, business advisor, project consultant and implementation specialist.  

I provide an alternative to the traditional retainer-based business coach with more flexible and affordable, hands-on advisory and project-led services that work with your business and your goals.

I started working as a consultant because I like to help people achieve their goals; whether that goal is to provide for yourself and your loved ones, develop a best-in-class product for your clients, create art, or you want to change the world. We all have an end goal for doing what we do. 

No matter what you’re striving for and at which part of the journey you are on, having someone you can turn to for help, who can provide support, motivation, clarity, or take some of the weight is invaluable.  You already know that no one will be as passionate or care as much about your business as you will – but I can promise you, I will be a close second! 

A bit of background

The first ten of my twenty-plus year career thus far was spent working in London in digital marketing as a Project Manager and Business Analyst for several global brands; in 2012 I moved over to working in my family manufacturing business in Kent, operating at executive level from 2015 onwards. 

I understand the types of issues businesses face – from the big ones like needing to increase turnover, increase profits, and reduce risk to the smaller ones, like navigating Christmas parties or working out how to keep the coffee and tea stocked.  

Due to my unique and diverse skillset, gained from a love of problem-solving, and experience of firefighting and wearing lots of different hats (I’ve been in sales, marketing, production, operations, design and manufacturing), I have knowledge and experience that allows me to provide comprehensive solutions to those in business, from the basics, right through to complex multi-department projects.  

In addition, my key values will also help you put sustainability, mental health, diversity, equality, inclusion, and above all, kindness at the forefront of your working practices. 

How do I work?

You can find out more details about my ways of working under my services and pricing section, but in brief, I offer fixed fee small business advice using my Clarity and Direction package, or bespoke project work.  With either service, I take a holistic view of your business, and its people and we collaborate to find the best solutions for your aims and budget, following a simple four-step process to identify the scope of what needs to be achieved, deep diving into understanding the business and analysing the outputs to create a workable solution ready to be implemented.

I offer a service that's all about you and your business needs, with no strings attached, there are no lengthy subscriptions or financial commitments over and above the agreed fee. I'm here to advise and guide you – and provide you with the insights and tools to tackle the workstreams we develop or assist in their implementation. 

And why me personally? My Swiss Army Knife expertise and experience are rooted in solid business management fundamentals, and I'm good at connecting the dots across different business areas - I don't just see one piece of the puzzle, I look at the whole picture. This allows me to dig deep and offer strategic guidance that addresses the root causes of problems and drives useful, meaningful change.  

And as a bonus, with over twenty years of business experience, I can facilitate additional specialist support through my business network.
